Marie Duncan

VP OF REcruitment

To each potential new member,

My name is Marie Duncan and I have the honor of serving as the Vice President of Recruitment for Alpha Gamma Delta this year! I am so grateful to hold this position and I am beyond excited to meet each one of you in August. I could go on and on about how much Alpha Gam means to me, and how my friendships through this chapter have blessed me in countless ways. Recruitment is such an amazing time for us to showcase to each of you why we found our home here and love it, but most importantly it is about YOU!! My greatest hope for you during this experience is that you think about what is most important to you, lean into your values, have FUN, and know you will find your home where you will thrive!!!

Since elected to this position last November, my team and I have been planning, preparing, and praying so intentionally over recruitment and each of you. Recruitment can seem daunting, but my best advice is to take it one day at a time, enjoy every moment, and have fun!!!! This is such an amazing opportunity that will allow you to grow in more ways than you could imagine. You will make so many friendships within the Panhellenic community that will be by your side for the next four years, and beyond. Every Potential New Member will feel the same way as you, so rest in knowing that you are not alone and that at the end of the week you will end up exactly where the Lord intends for you to be. Embrace the challenges, talk to new people, enjoy every moment (it all goes by so fast!!!), and most importantly be YOU!

 Alpha Gamma Delta is made up of so many different women who thrive in their own ways. No one within this chapter is perfect and we don’t expect you to be anywhere near perfect either! Come as you are and we will love you and welcome you with open arms. This chapter opened my eyes to what sisterhood truly means: supporting and loving each other through the highest highs, and the lowest lows. These girls make me laugh the hardest and are always down for an adventure, but are also the shoulder I cry on after a long week. They inspire me to be the best version of myself, and lift me up in every aspect of life. Without Alpha Gam I would not be who I am today. I pray that each of you find a home that provides this for you, and makes you feel as loved as you deserve. I am SO EXCITED for you to meet my people in August and even more excited for Alpha Gam to get to know you!

Dear Potential New Members,

My name is Grace Brooker, and I have the honor of serving as this year's Vice President of New Member Experience, lovingly referred to as our chapter's "Mama Nut. I am beyond excited to walk alongside you as you navigate, settle into, and grow to love life here at Auburn! Freshman year can be a whirlwind, but please know that I will be here to support you every step of the way. I’m here to share the highs, lows, and everything in between with each of you. You can always count on me to be a listening ear, a voice of encouragement, a source of comfort, and someone who’s ready to show you love and support whenever you need it!

I hope you know how excited we are to show you the treasure that is our Sisterhood and how excited we are that you are choosing to go through the recruitment process. Recruitment is an incredible experience where you will meet hundreds of new girls and start making sweet college memories. I encourage you to invest in the friendships around you during this process—whether it’s bonding with the girls in your Pi Chi group, connecting with your roommates, or taking a break with a walk or an ice cream run between parties. These little moments gave me a chance to relax, recharge, and truly enjoy the experience. Remember to do what fills your cup and keeps your spirit bright throughout this exciting time!

During this week, similar to Freshman year, there will be many emotions, and it’s easy to be overwhelmed. It’s normal to feel excited and joyful, but also a little overwhelmed or disappointed if things don’t go as planned. Remember, no one is perfect, and neither is any process, but you are here for a reason and have so much potential to accomplish amazing things. Embrace this journey, trust in the path ahead, and get ready to create some truly wonderful memories!

Getting to serve Alpha Gam this next year means so much to me because this Sisterhood has encouraged me, pushed me, loved me, and shaped me. I could not be more excited to pour into your lives in the same ways I have been poured into over these past two years. I hope you’re just as thrilled for these next four years as we are for you! It goes by fast but is so full of love, laughter, and life lessons waiting for you!
